Mountain climbing in Ramsau

19 mountain climbing routes

Ramsau on the Dachstein is rightly described as the cradle of the climbing routes: the climbing route to the Dachstein summit is the first climbing route of the Alps. In 2013 it celebrated its 170th anniversary. The initiator for the erection of the climb was "Friedrich Simony" some years ago.

Overhanging truly impressive cliffs, breathtaking views over the Enns valley with Schladming, the Dachstein, powerful and protective at the same time: All this the climbing area No. 1 in Austria on the Dachstein offers. 19 beautiful climbing routes and tours are on the southern side of the highest mountain of Styria and can be attacked from Ramsau on the Dachstein. As a reward the hikers are expecting extreme distances from the Dachstein: in the north to the Czech Republic and up to the Slovenian Triglav mountains in the south. From the "balcony of the Alps" (the skywalk) the Planai, the Hauser Kaibling, the Reiteralm and the lower Tauern with the most beautiful peaks seem to be close at hand!

Climbing eldorado Dachstein

The Dachstein chalk is known as the perfect climbing rock. A high alpine paradise for mountain hikers, mountaineers and climbers. Mountain climbing is the safest way of climbing. With fixed ropes and iron pens, the route is secured by the wall, thus enabling less experienced people to get closer to the fascination of mountain sports in the middle of steep walls around the Ramsau Plateau. From the top station of the Dachstein Gletscherbahn at the Hunerkogel at 2,700 meters above sea level, there are a lot of tempting tours.

Longest climbing route of austria: Vertical Drop

Via the climbing route "Anna" (300 hm) and the popular climbing route "Johann" (800 hm) the way leads over the "Dachstein Schulter" (250 HM) up to the "Dachstein Gipfelkreuz". From the entrance of the "Anna-Klettersteig" (1.800 m) to the Dachstein summit (2.996 m) you can climb the highest vertical drop of Austria and one of the longest drops of the Alps.
